Carlene Prentice LLB
LLB Family Lawyer
Carlene Prentice has been admitted as a lawyer since 1999, firstly as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and later as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and of the High Court of Australia. She studied her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Wellington.
Carlene also has a Certificate in Business from the Hutt Valley Polytechnic. Her career, for 17 years prior to her pursuit of Family, Relationship and Defacto Law, was in business, management, accounts and administration within organisations of diverse range and size, including an equally diverse range of businesses of her own.
Carlene brings these business, management, accounting and administration skills to her practice of Family, Relationship and Defacto Law and those skills underpin her expertise and special interest in the areas of property division, spousal maintenance, child support, prenuptial agreements and asset restructuring pre and post relationships.
Court room experience is one of Carlene’s strengths, she has a long history as a tough but fair litigator whose attention to detail is as important to her success in litigated cases as her knowledge of the often complex rules that govern the running of a case through the Family Court system.
